The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshioka stuffs the takedown.
Nice takedown defense from Yoshioka. No joy for Tidd on that attempt.
Yoshioka tries to clinch up but Tidd circles away and keeps his distance.
Tidd with the counter takedown but Yoshioka avoids it easily.

Tidd shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Yoshioka tries to roll over but Tidd keeps him under control.
My spies in Island Sparring inform me that Tidd has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Tidd is nestled in close to Yoshioka, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yoshioka is looking for a sweep. Tidd is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Tidd is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Tidd got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yoshioka has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tidd has managed to get both his arms back between Yoshioka's legs - danger averted.

Yoshioka has his foot on Tidd's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tidd works his way back into a safe position though.

Tidd stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Yoshioka throws up his legs and catches Tidd in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Tidd tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Yoshioka! That came out of nowhere!
