Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mauricio Rua!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua has Fuller up against the cage in a clinch.
Fuller is trying to pull guard but Rua turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Knees to the body from Rua.
Fuller tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Fuller is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rua to keep the fight standing.
Fuller tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rua just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Fuller. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fuller doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Fuller wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Rua jumps guard but Fuller stands there with Rua around his waist. Rua gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Fuller has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rua blocks a punch to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Fuller tries to pull guard but Rua holds him up against the cage and eventually Fuller drops back down to his feet.
Rua tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Fuller jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rua walks away with a smile on his face. Fuller gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Fuller closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rua really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fuller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rua gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Fuller controlling the pace for now.
Fuller's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Fuller has good solid back control here.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fuller is looking for a choke. Rua gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Rua manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Rua has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Fuller to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Rua is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Fuller pulls down on the head and he's put Rua to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Alex Fuller!
