Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shepkin closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Silva quickly recovers to half guard.

Silva manages to get to full guard.
Silva is wriggling around but Shepkin manages to pass to half guard.

Shepkin stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Silva to get to his feet.

Silva closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shepkin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Silva's efforts to push away.
Silva's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Silva's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Silva is pressed up against the cage. Shepkin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Silva down to the mat. Silva avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Shepkin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Silva pushes Shepkin off and gets back to his feet.

Silva wants to clinch up but Shepkin keeps it at a distance.
Shepkin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Silva manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Silva has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Silva wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Silva is looking to break free of the clinch but Shepkin has double underhooks.

Shepkin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Silva smiles and moves away.

Shepkin has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Silva regains guard immediately.

Silva scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Silva blocks a head kick by Shepkin.
Shepkin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Silva counters with a left and a right that stings Shepkin.
Silva wants to clinch.
Silva tries to clinch but Shepkin moves out of range.

Shepkin misses with a double jab
and Silva counters with a three punch combo that has Shepkin backing up. Shepkin nods at Silva to acknowledge the strikes.

Shepkin gets a double leg takedown into Silva's guard.

Silva is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Shepkin rolls with it to try and escape but Silva cranks on the arm and Shepkin is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
