The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gowdy throws a head kick that misses.
That kick from Gowdy tenderised Green's leg. Green is trying to keep his angry face on.

Green tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gowdy defends well and Green ends up having to push Gowdy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Green goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Anderson Gowdy has been cut.
Gowdy looks winded!
Green dives in for a single leg takedown but Gowdy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Gowdy checks the leg kick nicely there.
Green tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gowdy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Green somewhat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Martin Green will probably get the nod.

Green manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gowdy manages to get himself to full guard.
