Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Abdullah Sajid (ranked 4005 p4p, 409 weight class) and Rasul Dolaev (ranked 6757 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Rasul Dolaev has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Rasul Dolaev!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dolaev shoots for a takedown but Sajid saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sajid stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sajid wants it to stay on the feet.
Sajid has his takedown stuffed
and Dolaev counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sajid is breathing heavily.
Sajid shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dolaev pinned against the cage. Dolaev gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dolaev closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Dolaev stalls.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dolaev has Sajid pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Dolaev pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Sajid tumbling to the mat - Dolaev dives into Sajid's guard.
Dolaev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sajid has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dolaev has managed to get both his arms back between Sajid's legs - danger averted.

Sajid utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Dolaev must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sajid working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dolaev doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Sajid is tightening it up a little... Dolaev has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Dolaev reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Dolaev taps out! Nice BJJ there by Sajid!
