Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wesley Taurus (ranked 5735 p4p, 529 weight class) and Robert Brunson (ranked 5447 p4p, 520 weight class). Brunson has chosen Flinstones Theme Song as his entrance music. Wesley Taurus has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wesley Taurus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Robert Brunson!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taurus tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Taurus tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brunson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Brunson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Taurus has hold of Brunson's hands but Brunson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Brunson prevents Taurus from standing back up.
Brunson misses with a head shot. Taurus uses the momentum to regain guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brunson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Brunson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Let's hope that Brunson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Brunson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Taurus did well to prevent Brunson getting side control.

Brunson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Brunson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Brunson connects with a nice short shot to Taurus's temple.
