Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Flagstaff moves into range and clinches up with Gracie.
Flagstaff scores with a knee to the head.
Flagstaff has Gracie pressed against the cage.
Flagstaff unloads a knee to the mid-section. Gracie lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Flagstaff landing knees to the body.
Gracie jumps guard but Flagstaff stands there with Gracie around his waist. Gracie gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Flagstaff had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gracie is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Flagstaff Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gracie's back instead.
Flagstaff is trying to stick to Gracie's back but Gracie is turning into Flagstaff. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Flagstaff's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Gracie.

Flagstaff has his foot on Gracie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gracie works his way back into a safe position though.

Gracie is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Flagstaff can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Gracie has gone for a leg lock! Flagstaff slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gracie's guard.

Flagstaff passes Gracie's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Gracie should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Flagstaff is trying to work for a kimura but Gracie is defending well.

Flagstaff is working for an americana but Gracie has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Flagstaff was thinking about the submission.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Flagstaff is retaining full guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Flagstaff has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Gracie is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Flagstaff.

Gracie moves nicely into side control.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Flagstaff is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Flagstaff is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Flagstaff manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Flagstaff's guard.
Flagstaff wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment.

Gracie wants to clinch.

Flagstaff rushes Gracie and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Flagstaff for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Flagstaff will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Gracie up against the cage.

Gracie is looking for a triangle but Flagstaff pushes his legs off easily.
Flagstaff postures up in Gracie's guard and throws a big left but Gracie blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Flagstaff won't allow Gracie to sweep him here.
Flagstaff pushes down on Gracie's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Flagstaff is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gracie sees it coming and defends easily.

Flagstaff is trying for a kimura here. Gracie looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Flagstaff wins by kimura!
