Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cajetan Shashi (ranked 5388 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Lyons (ranked 2251 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cajetan Shashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lee Lyons!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shashi shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lyons napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Lyons is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lyons can do anything to dispel that myth.

Shashi decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Shashi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lyons sprawls well initially but Shashi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Shashi passes to full mount!
Lyons is looking to get to half guard.

Shashi jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Lyons manages to avoid the submission attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Shashi stands up.

Shashi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shashi lands in his opponent's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shashi advances to half guard.
Lyons misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shashi throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Lyons is looking to improve his position.
Lyons throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Shashi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lyons defends it well.
Shashi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lyons's head.
Shashi is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Shashi breaks from Lyons's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Shashi is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lyons to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lyons shrugs it off.
Lyons throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Shashi working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Lyons really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shashi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shashi drops a big elbow. That's hurt Lyons! More shots from Shashi and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
