Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Leo Gallegos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Jack!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Gallegos shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Jack is looking for a sweep. Gallegos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gallegos trying to control the action but Jack is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gallegos tries to stand but can't do so whilst Jack controls his leg.
Jack wants to improve his position but Gallegos is controlling well.

Jack tightens his grip and picks Gallegos up, before dumping him to the ground. Gallegos manages to land in guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Jack is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Gallegos drops back looking for a leg! Jack is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jack manages to kick Gallegos off! Gallegos jumps back into Jack's guard.

Jack escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gallegos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jack has his foot on Gallegos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gallegos works his way back into a safe position though.
Gallegos wants to stand but Jack has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Gallegos is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Jack knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Jack for a finish.
