Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adrian Arellano!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Scon!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jorge Garcia and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A slow jab from Arellano misses its intended target.
Arellano seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Scon has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Arellano finds it's way round the side to connect with Scon's head.
Arellano circles away from the clinch attempt
and Arellano counters with a stiff right hand.
No joy there for Arellano, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Scon tries to move into range but Arellano moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Nice shot lands for Arellano.
Arellano throws a looping overhand right but Scon ducks down to avoid it.
Arellano avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Scon tries to clinch but Arellano is having none of it.
Arellano misses with a looping left.
Adrian Arellano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Arellano misses with an uppercut.
Arellano looks to land a right hand but Scon moved out of range.
Scon misses with a head kick.
Arellano was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Arellano displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Scon.
Scon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Scon shoots in and drives through. Arellano sprawls well.
It looked like Arellano wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Arellano looks to land a right hand but Scon moved out of range.
Scon swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Scon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Scon shoots for a takedown but Arellano saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Arellano is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Arellano will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Arellano lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Scon backs up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Scon on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Arellano looks to land a combination. Scon sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Scon lands a jab-cross combination.
Arellano jabs Scon to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Arellano comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Scon has his takedown stuffed
and Arellano counters with a nice body shot.
Arellano lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Scon slips a straight right by Arellano.
Scon changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

and Scon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Scon.

Scon is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Scon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Arellano's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adrian Arellano dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Scon looks up at the clock. Bad move! Arellano lands a right hand from hell, dropping Scon. Arellano pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
