PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlito Montoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iker Casillas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Iker Casillas was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlito Montoya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Iker Casillas!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montoya fails with an attempt to clinch.
Casillas fails with the takedown.
Casillas shoots in looking for a takedown. Montoya tries to sprawl out of it but Casillas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Montoya manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Montoya moves in looking to clinch but Casillas pushes him off.
A combination from Montoya does no damage.
Montoya misses the jab.
Carlito Montoya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Casillas swats away the attempt to clinch by Montoya.
Montoya tries to clinch but Casillas moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Montoya tries to clinch but Casillas moves out of range.
Montoya connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Casillas momentarily.
Montoya throws a head kick but Casillas moves out of range.
Montoya is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Casillas.
Montoya fails in his attempt to clinch.

Montoya scores with a leg kick.
Montoya is looking to clinch but Casillas is avoiding it.
Montoya missing with a left hand there. Casillas was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Carlito Montoya is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Montoya tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Casillas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Montoya tries to clinch but Casillas is having none of it.
Montoya throws a series of punches but Casillas moves out of range.
Montoya doesn't manage to clinch there - Casillas circles away.
Montoya tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Casillas fails to land the takedown.
Carlito Montoya has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iker Casillas.
Casillas takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Montoya tries to clinch but Casillas moves out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Montoya doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Montoya.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Montoya tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Montoya lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Montoya misses with a short punch on the inside.
Montoya tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Casillas jumps guard and drags Montoya to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Casillas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Montoya doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Montoya manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Montoya avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Casillas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Montoya gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Montoya wants to stand but Casillas is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Casillas looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Casillas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Montoya's guard.

Montoya pushes Casillas off and gets back to his feet.
Montoya is looking to clinch but Casillas is avoiding it.

Casillas drives through with a takedown into guard.

Casillas has gone for a leg lock! Montoya slips out almost immediately though and dives into Casillas's guard.

Casillas is looking for a triangle here but Montoya uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Casillas looks gassed!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Montoya stands up and beckons Casillas to his feet.
Casillas doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Montoya tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Casillas fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Casillas fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
No luck for Casillas with that takedown attempt.
Montoya tries to clinch there but Casillas circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlito Montoya dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Montoya lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Casillas shoots for a double leg takedown but Montoya sprawls well. He's pushed Casillas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A big head kick from Montoya and Casillas is sent sprawling to the canvas!


Casillas is rocked!


It looks like Iker Casillas has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Montoya gets to his feet. Casillas looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Casillas is still on wobbly legs! Can Montoya finish him?

Montoya clinches up with Casillas and pushes him back against the cage.
Montoya lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Casillas backwards.
Montoya comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Montoya creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Casillas's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Casillas drops to his knees and Montoya pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlito Montoya!
