Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alonso Mccray (ranked 23926 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hoop Hooper (ranked 4068 p4p, 0 weight class). Alonso Mccray is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alonso Mccray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hoop Hooper!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mccray has closed the distance and engaged Hooper in a clinch.
Hooper goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mccray prevents it.

Mccray breaks from the clinch.
Hooper doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mccray counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Hooper has his takedown stuffed

and Mccray counters by moving into the clinch.
Alonso Mccray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hoop Hooper.

Mccray breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hooper looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mccray thinks about countering with a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hooper tries to pull guard but Mccray won't allow it.

Mccray pulls guard effortlessly.
Mccray is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mccray pulls Hooper in to control the position.
Mccray knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hooper on the ground.
Hooper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mccray swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hooper works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Hooper is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Mccray trying to control but Hooper postures up.

Hooper looking for a submission but Mccray manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Mccray could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mccray keeping moving, preventing Hooper from controlling successfully.

Mccray looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hooper trying to control but Mccray is working from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hoop Hooper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hooper fails with a takedown attempt.
Hooper shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mccray as he jumps to the side.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

and Mccray holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Mccray successfully pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mccray lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Hooper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mccray gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hooper is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hooper looks winded!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hooper wants to sweep here but Mccray controlling him for the moment.

Hooper had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mccray defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alonso Mccray dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Mccray lands with a kick to the temple. Hooper shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Hooper tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mccray sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hooper somewhat.
Mccray attempts a counter takedown but Hooper avoids it well and moves away.
Alonso Mccray is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mccray throws a sloppy head kick and Hooper moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hooper shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mccray sprawls well. Mccray wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hooper gets slowly back to his feet.
Mccray went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Hooper.
Alonso Mccray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hoop Hooper.

Mccray is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hooper's half guard.
Hooper works his way to full guard. Good work.
Mccray lands a couple of digs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hooper is trying to keep Mccray in close.

Hooper is working an open guard so Mccray takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Hooper shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Mccray holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Mccray manages to break the clinch.
Hooper shoots in looking for a takedown. Mccray tries to sprawl out of it but Hooper keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mccray manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hooper is breathing heavily.
Hooper dives in for a single leg takedown but Mccray sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Mccray appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Hooper tries to keep at a distance but Mccray has taken the fight into the clinch.

Mccray's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mccray lands a really nice looking cross but Hooper seems unphased.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hooper goes for a double leg but Mccray avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mccray continues to drive forward.

Mccray has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hooper uses from the top position.

Hooper wants to take a breather but Mccray is having none of it.
Mccray tries to roll over but Hooper keeps him under control.
Hooper is looking to take a break and control but Mccray is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hooper tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mccray knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Mccray tries to roll over but Hooper keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Hooper shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mccray defends it nicely.
Mccray wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Hooper fails to land the takedown.

Mccray closes the distance and pushes Hooper back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hooper is trying to get an arm triangle but Mccray is defending well.

Mccray tries to bench press Hooper off him but Hooper keeps the position.
Hooper is looking to take a break and control but Mccray is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hooper is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mccray knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

You can see the frustration on Mccray's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hooper laying and praying for a moment but Mccray takes advantage and regains half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mccray is controlling Hooper's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Hooper is controlling the pace.

Hooper is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Mccray is refusing to be controlled, as Hooper sits in half guard.

I would just about give that final round to Hoop Hooper.
Well Mccray has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
