PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scott Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Bomb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyson comes to the cage accompanied by When love takes over. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Scott Tyson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tyson Bomb!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bomb bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Bomb shoots for a takedown but Tyson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Tyson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Tyson wants to pass the guard but Bomb is keeping the position.
Tyson is working hard here to advance position.

Bomb not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bomb is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tyson is controlling him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Bomb darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Tyson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tyson.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bomb is looking to work some ground and pound but Tyson has wrist control.
Tyson wants to sweep here but Bomb controlling him for the moment.
Tyson tries to strike from the bottom.
Bomb trying to control the position from guard on top but Tyson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tyson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Bomb wants to pass the guard but Tyson is keeping the position.
Bomb postures up and lands a big shot to Tyson's brow.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tyson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bomb doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Tyson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Tyson is breathing heavily.

Bomb looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Tyson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Bomb tries to kick Tyson off in order to stand up. Tyson Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Tyson fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Bomb struggling a bit here.
Bomb is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Tyson is staying active.
Bomb is letting Tyson control him for a moment.
Bomb is trying to control Tyson's posture but Tyson avoids it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Tyson takes the fight into the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bomb wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Bomb cracks the inside of Tyson's front leg.
Tyson fails with the takedown.
Bomb fails to land with a series of punches.

Bomb closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Bomb throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Tyson gets back to full guard.
Bomb would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tyson is trying to keep Bomb in close.
Bomb is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bomb wants to control from the top but Tyson keeps moving.
Tyson throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Bomb has his takedown stuffed

and Tyson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Tyson.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bomb is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Bomb working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tyson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tyson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Tyson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Tyson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bomb, up you get!
Bomb shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tyson pinned against the cage. Tyson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bomb shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tyson as he avoids it easily.
Scott Tyson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson Bomb.
Bomb shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tyson as he jumps to the side.
Bomb scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Bomb fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bomb shoots in but Tyson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bomb buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Bomb tries to clinch there but Tyson circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Tyson tries to close the distance and clinch but Bomb swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Bomb has his foot on Tyson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tyson works his way back into a safe position though.

Tyson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Bomb trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Tyson postures up in Bomb's guard and throws a big left but Bomb blocks it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Tyson is looking to advance position but Bomb has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Bomb controlling the pace for now.
Tyson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Tyson tries to buck Bomb off but Bomb takes his back!
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Bomb.

Bomb is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
Tyson trying to control the hands but Bomb breaks the grip.
Scott Tyson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Tyson breaks Bomb's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Bomb is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Bomb is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Tyson is not content to let Bomb control the position.

Bomb seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Tyson Bomb has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Scott Tyson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Bomb thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tyson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
