Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between mitchell van der schans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and musashi minamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). van der schans comes to the cage accompanied by husselin. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

van der schans shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. van der schans showed some decent athleticism there.
van der schans is nestled in close to minamoto, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
minamoto wants to improve his position but van der schans is controlling well.
van der schans wants to lay and pray for a moment but minamoto keeps working.

van der schans is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

van der schans jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as minamoto walks away with a smile on his face. van der schans gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

van der schans drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

van der schans wants to stand but minamoto has his arm trapped.
van der schans wants to lay and pray for a moment but minamoto keeps working.
minamoto is trying to improve his position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

van der schans throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around minamoto's waist but minamoto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing van der schans off to one side.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if minamoto can do anything to dispel that myth.

That was a close second round but I would say that mitchell van der schans will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to mitchell van der schans.
Well van der schans has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
