Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sal Callahan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Goodridge!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Callahan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Goodridge's guard.
Callahan prevents Goodridge from getting back to his feet.

Callahan postures up in Goodridge's guard and throws a big left but Goodridge blocks it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Callahan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Callahan is looking to work some ground and pound but Goodridge has wrist control.

Callahan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Goodridge works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Callahan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Callahan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Goodridge avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Callahan with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Goodridge wants to stand but Callahan is controlling the position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Callahan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Goodridge lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Goodridge throws a head kick but Callahan moves out of range.

Goodridge clinches up with Callahan and pushes him back against the cage.

Callahan looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Callahan is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Goodridge can't fight it off and eventually Callahan manages to take the fight to the floor. Goodridge looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Goodridge wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Callahan manages to pass to side control.

Goodridge defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Callahan's arms.
Goodridge is trying to get back to his feet but Callahan has full control of the position and if anything, Goodridge has just worked his way into a worse spot.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Callahan gets his hands free as Goodridge looks to control.

Callahan sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Goodridge taps out!
