The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haba throws a series of punches but Russel avoids them all with ease.
Russel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Haba.
A looping hook to the body misses from Haba. Russel does a little dance to reset his feet.
Haba lands with a cross.
Haba throws a right hand that Russel ducks under and follows up with a left that Russel also avoids with ease.
A big left from Russel misses.
Russel misses the jab.
Nice cross by Haba.
Haba lands a head shot.
Haba dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Haba scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Russel takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Russel wants to clinch up but Haba keeps it at a distance.

Russel forces Haba back against the cage and clinches.

Haba tries a body shot but Russel blocks it.

Haba wants to get back to striking at distance but Russel won't allow it.
Haba is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Haba breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Haba counters with a nice uppercut.

Russel ducks under a wild hook from Haba.
Russel seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Haba throws an overhand right that lands on Russel's shoulder, as Russel tries to avoid the shot.
Russel throws a body shot but no joy.
Haba swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Russel.
Haba cracks Russel with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Phillip Haba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Haba scores with a nice head shot.
Haba slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Russel is looking to clinch but Haba is avoiding it.
Haba looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Haba bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Russel's head backwards.
Oh Russel is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Haba lands with a right that hurts Russel. Russel looks to clinch but Haba throws a short knee that drops Russel. This one is all over!
