Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jamey Roy (ranked 4670 p4p, 0 weight class) and Panda Awesome (ranked 3021 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Awesome fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Roy, pushing him back against the cage.
Awesome lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Roy wants to get back to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Roy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Awesome manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Roy has Awesome in his guard.

Awesome is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Roy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Awesome.

Panda Awesome showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Roy throws a lazy body kick
and Awesome moves into the clinch.
Roy is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Awesome gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Roy jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Awesome walks away with a smile on his face. Roy gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Awesome counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Awesome looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Roy!

Panda Awesome is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Awesome is trying to stick to Roy's back but Roy is turning into Awesome. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Awesome's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Roy.

Well Awesome has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
