Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Average!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Morales!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Average closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Average blocking some punches.
Average changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Morales fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Morales looks to land a combination but Average avoids it well.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Morales has had enough of the clinch but Average keeps him there for the moment.
Average wants to take the fight to the mat but Morales manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Average taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Morales tries to work over Average's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Average has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Average has Morales pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Average pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Morales tumbling to the mat - Average dives into Morales's guard.
Morales wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Average manages to pass to side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morales is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Average's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Average's back!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Morales thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Morales connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Average to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Average controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad spot.
Average has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Morales.
Average turns into Morales and is now in his guard.
Morales can't keep his opponent in guard - Average advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Morales is trying to control but can't.
Average takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Average landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Average looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Average is trying to control. Morales wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Average is pressing down on Morales's thigh, looking to free his foot. Morales is holding on for now.
Average wants to control but Morales is keeping him busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Morales is doing well to control the position and prevent Average from advancing to side control.
Average tries to pass the half guard into mount. Morales knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Morales trying to control but Average postures up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Average in particular looking to stall.
Morales wants to control but Average is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Average missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Average is thwarting Morales's attempts to control the position.
Average passes to side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Average creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Morales sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Average tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Morales regains half guard.
Average has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Morales is trying desperately to improve position.
Morales is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Morales is still trying to improve position.
Average cracks Morales with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Average cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
BOOM! Average connects with a massive shot to the dome!


Morales is rocked!

Average working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Morales is still in real trouble! Can Average finish him?
Average drops a big elbow. That's hurt Morales! More shots from Average and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Average!
During a confident post fight interview, Joe Average thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
