The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paulo looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Paulo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Armstrong has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Paulo has managed to get both his arms back between Armstrong's legs - danger averted.
Armstrong looking for a sweep. Not yet Armstrong, not yet.
Paulo wants to stand but Armstrong is controlling his posture from full guard.
Armstrong is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paulo stands up and waves to Armstrong to follow him.
Armstrong shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Paulo as he jumps to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Armstrong clinches up with Paulo and pushes him back against the cage.
Armstrong jumps guard but Paulo stands there with Armstrong around his waist. Armstrong gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

It looks like Felipe Paulo has been cut.

Paulo is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Armstrong jumps guard but Paulo stands there with Armstrong around his waist. Armstrong gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Paulo wants to get up but he can't break Armstrong's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Armstrong wants to sweep but no luck.

Paulo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Armstrong is proving hard to escape from.

Paulo stands and steps away. Armstrong gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Felipe Paulo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Armstrong goes for a double leg but Paulo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Paulo continues to drive forward.

Paulo moves into the clinch.
Paulo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Armstrong jumps guard and drags Paulo to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
