Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rashid Magomedov (ranked 2020 p4p, 234 weight class) and Devon Malcolm (ranked 5914 p4p, 502 weight class). Rashid Magomedov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magomedov fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Malcolm on the side of the head.
Malcolm rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Magomedov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Malcolm moves out of range of the strikes.
Left hook, right uppercut from Malcolm.

It looks like Rashid Magomedov has been cut.
Magomedov jabs Malcolm to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Magomedov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Malcolm.

Malcolm is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Magomedov's half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Malcolm is trying to control. Magomedov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Malcolm moves nicely into side control.

Malcolm takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Malcolm misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Malcolm wants to finish this one by submission but Magomedov is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Malcolm.

Magomedov tries to hold on but Malcolm pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Malcolm postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Magomedov looks a forlorn figure.

Rashid Magomedov's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rashid Magomedov's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
