Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Richard Danielson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wataru Shinzaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shinzaki is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by I Gotcha by Ken The 390. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Danielson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wataru Shinzaki!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Bruno Lombardi and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shinzaki throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A combination from Shinzaki does no damage.
Shinzaki throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Danielson checks a leg kick.
Danielson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Danielson is breathing heavily.
Shinzaki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Danielson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Shinzaki holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Shinzaki is trying to control but can't.
Shinzaki is concentrating on defense, preventing Danielson from advancing position.
Danielson stops Shinzaki from getting back to his feet.
Shinzaki gets back to full guard.
Shinzaki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Shinzaki is adopting a defensive guard.

Shinzaki wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Despite being in the dominant position, Wataru Shinzaki just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Danielson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Shinzaki.
Wataru Shinzaki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shinzaki stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Wataru Shinzaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shinzaki misses with a kick to the body.
Shinzaki throws a shot from downtown. Danielson moves away and avoids it.
Shinzaki looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Shinzaki lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Shinzaki scores with a push kick.
A right-left combo lands from Shinzaki.
Danielson moves out of range of the body kick.
Danielson moves forwards but Shinzaki connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Danielson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Shinzaki finds it's way round the side to connect with Danielson's head.
Shinzaki lands a nice looking kick to the body. Danielson takes a step back to recover.
A nice combination there by Shinzaki.
Shinzaki misses with a wild body shot.
Shinzaki throws a series of strikes that have Danielson backpedaling.
Danielson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shinzaki swivels and escapes.
Shinzaki closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Shinzaki sizes up Danielson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Shinzaki lands a jab-cross combination.

Danielson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Danielson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Shinzaki.

Shinzaki moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Danielson trying to control the position from guard on top but Shinzaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shinzaki seems keen to control Danielson's posture.

Shinzaki kicks Danielson off and gets to his feet.
Shinzaki misses with a head kick.
Shinzaki finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Danielson moves into the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shinzaki is working Danielson over against the cage.

Danielson tries to pull guard but Shinzaki holds him up against the cage and eventually Danielson drops back down to his feet.

Shinzaki tests Danielson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Shinzaki throws and low kick but Danielson moves out of range easily.
Shinzaki lands with a cross.
Shinzaki bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Danielson avoids a kick to the body.
Shinzaki misses with a double jab.
A combination from Shinzaki does no damage.
Shinzaki misses with a body kick.
Richard Danielson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Danielson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Shinzaki looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Shinzaki lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Shinzaki.

Danielson shoots in and drives through. Shinzaki sprawls well.
Shinzaki swings for the body but Danielson moves out of range.
Shinzaki lands a nice looking kick to the body. Danielson takes a step back to recover.

No joy there for Danielson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Shinzaki is trying to control but can't.

Shinzaki is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Danielson is staying active.
Shinzaki tries to get to full guard but Danielson has control of the leg.
Danielson is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Danielson tries to move into range but Shinzaki moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Danielson shoots in looking for a takedown. Shinzaki tries to sprawl out of it but Danielson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shinzaki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Shinzaki cracks Danielson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Danielson feints and then cracks Shinzaki's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Shinzaki down.
Shinzaki lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Shinzaki looks to land a right hand but Danielson moved out of range.
Danielson tries to clinch up but Shinzaki circles away and keeps his distance.
Danielson misses with a takedown attempt - Shinzaki sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Shinzaki uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Danielson has time to react.
Danielson is looking to clinch but Shinzaki is avoiding it.

and Danielson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Danielson.

Danielson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Danielson looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Shinzaki lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

and Danielson counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Danielson ducks under a wild hook from Shinzaki.

Danielson has Shinzaki up against the cage in a clinch.
Danielson keeps control of Shinzaki as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Danielson prevents Shinzaki from breaking the clinch.
Danielson digs a right hand underneath Shinzaki's ribcage. Shinzaki let out a lung full of air as it connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wataru Shinzaki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Shinzaki throws a looping overhand right but Danielson ducks down to avoid it.
Shinzaki scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Danielson takes one to the side of the head.
Shinzaki fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Shinzaki throws a right and a left that both miss.
Danielson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Shinzaki stuffs the takedown attempt from Danielson. Danielson gets slowly back to his feet.
Shinzaki shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Shinzaki lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Shinzaki lunges at Danielson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Danielson's hand.
Shinzaki throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Danielson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shinzaki as he jumps to the side.

Danielson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Shinzaki wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Danielson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Shinzaki can't fight it off and eventually Danielson manages to take the fight to the floor. Shinzaki looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Danielson wants to control from the top but Shinzaki keeps moving.

Danielson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shinzaki is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shinzaki has escaped and now he's on top!

Danielson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shinzaki doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shinzaki manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Danielson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Shinzaki is controlling the pace.
Danielson tries to roll over but Shinzaki keeps him under control.

Danielson wants to control but Shinzaki is keeping busy.
Still in half guard, Shinzaki seems content to control.
Shinzaki is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Danielson stops Shinzaki from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Danielson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Shinzaki tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Danielson tries to lock up and control but Shinzaki gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Shinzaki controlling the position easily from mount.
Shinzaki prevents Danielson from getting the reversal.

And that's the end of the fight!
Wataru Shinzaki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Shinzaki winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
