Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Jones (ranked 3854 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Menard (ranked 5563 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacob Menard!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Menard shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Menard trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Menard is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Menard stopping the sweep attempt from Jones.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jones is on top in guard.

Menard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jones passes into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Menard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

An inside leg kick from Menard misses.
Menard is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Jones changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Menard throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Menard finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Menard wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Jones is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Menard trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
Menard is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Menard gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Menard defends it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Menard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jones trying to control the position.
Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Menard's guard.

Menard tries to strike from the bottom.

Jones avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jones scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Jones postures up.
Menard might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jones haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Jones stands and steps away. Menard gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Menard scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
