Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Jones (ranked 6205 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gustav Rinaldi (ranked 22037 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gustav Rinaldi!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones has Rinaldi up against the cage in a clinch.

Rinaldi has picked Jones up - he's going for a ride! Rinaldi dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Jones has one foot on Rinaldi's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

enabling Rinaldi to counter with a crisp jab.

and Rinaldi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rinaldi stays in close to Jones's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rinaldi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Rinaldi controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Rinaldi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Jones!
Jones seems a little lost for a moment, as Rinaldi dominates the positioning.

Rinaldi is trying to get an arm triangle but Jones is defending well.
A lull in the action here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rinaldi has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Rinaldi is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Jones's shoulder. That is not cool.

Rinaldi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jones is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rinaldi controls the position.

Rinaldi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jones is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Rinaldi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jones knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rinaldi is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Jones will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Jones tries to clinch but Rinaldi moves out of range.
Rinaldi is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Rinaldi keeps the fight on the outside.

Rinaldi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rinaldi lands in his opponent's guard.
Rinaldi is standing up over Jones. Jones looks to escape but Rinaldi dives into side control.

Rinaldi remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rinaldi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
