Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Osama Akharraz (ranked 3304 p4p, 376 weight class) and Brandon Walker (ranked 4387 p4p, 435 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Osama Akharraz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brandon Walker!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walker moves into the clinch successfully.
Walker lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Akharraz backwards.
Come on Akharraz - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Akharraz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A telegraphed right hand from Akharraz misses the target.

Akharraz moves into range and clinches up with Walker.
Walker is trying to maintain a safe position but Akharraz gets an underhook and turns Walker into the cage.
Akharraz is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Akharraz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Walker misses with a low kick.
Walker has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Akharraz clinches with his opponent.
Walker tries to pull guard but Akharraz forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Akharraz breaks the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walker drives through with a takedown into Akharraz's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Walker throwing strikes from guard but Akharraz blocks nicely.
Walker has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Akharraz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Walker is controlling him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walker lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Walker lands a couple of digs.

Akharraz is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Walker dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walker cracks Akharraz with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Akharraz is trying to get back to his feet.
Walker is chipping away with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walker is working Akharraz over with some ground and pound from side control.
Walker misses with the ground and pound.
Akharraz is not content to let Walker control the position.
Akharraz is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Walker asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Walker working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Walker connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Akharraz some visible discomfort.
Akharraz wants to get back to his feet but Walker is dominant here and he's now got Akharraz's back!

Walker is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Akharraz taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Walker.
