Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ragnar Lothbrok (ranked 2682 p4p, 259 weight class) and Christoph Columbus (ranked 2741 p4p, 263 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Columbus misses with a looping right.
Lothbrok throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Lothbrok shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Columbus has managed to clinch.
Columbus has a couple of punches blocked by Lothbrok.

Lothbrok pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Columbus tries to clinch but Lothbrok moves out of range.

Columbus cracks Lothbrok with a right hand to the side of the head.
Christoph Columbus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lothbrok shoots in for a double leg but Columbus sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Columbus tries to close the distance and clinch but Lothbrok swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Lothbrok closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lothbrok has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Columbus takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Columbus can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lothbrok cracks Columbus with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Columbus is still in real trouble! Can Lothbrok finish him?

A nice elbow there by Lothbrok.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Columbus uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lothbrok.

Columbus swings wildly with an uppercut but Lothbrok uses good head movement to avoid it.

Lothbrok turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lothbrok manages to end up in side control.

Lothbrok is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Columbus knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Columbus felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Lothbrok takes a little break here. Columbus wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Lothbrok has an Americana. Columbus didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Lothbrok is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Lothbrok hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
