Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stephen Dodson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mingo Pow!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pow closes the distance and clinches.

Pow escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pow goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Pow throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dodson was covering up waiting for the punch and Pow finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Dodson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pow sitting in guard here, content to control.
Dodson trying to control the position.
Dodson is pulling down on Pow's head to control his posture.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pow prevents Dodson from getting back to his feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Pow closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dodson's guard.

Pow throws a big elbow that misses.
Pow sitting in guard here, content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pow controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dodson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Pow working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dodson's head.

Pow is working Dodson over with some ground and pound from side control.
Dodson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Pow is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dodson has escaped the position, nice work there.
Pow takes a little break here. Dodson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Pow wants to stand but Dodson has his arm trapped.
Dodson is trying to get back to half guard.
Pow advances to mount.
Pow moves to the back.
Dodson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dodson is trying to remain composed but Pow is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mingo Pow dominated that round.

Dodson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Pow closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dodson quickly recovers to half guard.
Pow has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Pow seems to be working for a kimura but Dodson defends the submission attempt.

Pow content to control rather than advance.
Pow wants to stand but Dodson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Pow's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Dodson is refusing to be controlled, as Pow sits in half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Pow clinches up against the cage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Pow ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Pow no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Pow has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dodson looking to sit in guard and control but Pow gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Pow is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Pow wants to stand but Dodson is controlling his posture from full guard.
Pow in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Pow trying to control but Dodson is working from the bottom.
Dodson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pow controls the pace.
Dodson pulls Pow in to control the position.
Dodson wants to stand and escape but Pow is having none of it.

Pow is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Pow is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dodson defends it well.
Pow is figuring out what he wants to do next.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
More stalling from Pow.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Pow misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Pow is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Pow lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Pow tries to free his leg and advance position but Dodson is retaining full guard.

Pow lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Pow wants to free his trapped foot but Dodson is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dodson is trying to control but can't.
Dodson moves into full guard.
Pow wants to pass the guard but Dodson is keeping the position.

Dodson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Pow showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Pow advances to half guard.
Pow controlling the pace.

Pow is looking for a kimura but Dodson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pow to get the leverage.

Pow is pressing down on Dodson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dodson is holding on for now.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Pow scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Pow missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Dodson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pow scores with a couple of nice shots.
Mingo Pow has got the better of the ground game so far.

Dodson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pow is working away from the top position though.

Mingo Pow comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pow has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
