The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guedes takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Mikolajczyk throws a push kick but Guedes slaps the foot to one side.
Mikolajczyk shoots in for a double leg but Guedes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Guedes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Guedes wants it to stay on the feet.
Guedes looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Guedes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mikolajczyk looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mikolajczyk is looking to get back to his feet here but Guedes is keeping cool and he's managed to take Mikolajczyk's back.

Mikolajczyk wants to control his opponent's hands but Guedes gets his hands free.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mikolajczyk shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Guedes sprawls well. Guedes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mikolajczyk gets slowly back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Guedes has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Guedes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Guedes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mikolajczyk tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Guedes stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Guedes only half commits to the counter leg kick.

Guedes has decided that he can't make progress quickly enough from the back position and has rather unusually decided to stand up from the dominant position. Obviously he's going to be looking for the knockout on the feet here!

Guedes feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Guedes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
