Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Edmonds (ranked 543 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sake Chu (ranked 1999 p4p, 0 weight class). Edmonds comes to the cage accompanied by Frankie Smith - Double Dutch Bus. Chu has chosen Daughtry - Renegade as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Edmonds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sake Chu!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chu throws the left hand but Edmonds avoids the punch easily.
Chu tries to move into range but Edmonds moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Edmonds steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Chu.
An attempted straight right counter from Edmonds misses the target.
Chu throws a hook but Edmonds blocks it.
Edmonds takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Edmonds swings for the body but Chu moves out of range.
Chu takes a swing at Edmonds's ribcage but misses.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Chu!

Edmonds manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chu on his heels. He'll look to pass Chu's guard now, I'm sure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chu tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chu can do anything to dispel that myth.
Chu is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Chu controlling Edmonds's posture.
Chu keeping full guard, as Edmonds tries to pass.
Chu is adopting a defensive guard.
Edmonds wants to pass the guard but Chu is keeping the position.

Chu wants to sweep here but Edmonds controlling him for the moment.

Edmonds pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chu is keeping the position for now.
Chu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Edmonds. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Chu wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Edmonds is now in half guard.
Chu has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Edmonds is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chu wants to get back to full guard but Edmonds has mounted him!

Chu tries to control Edmonds's body but Edmonds pushes him off. Chu squirms to his side and now Edmonds has his back!
Edmonds is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Edmonds seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Edmonds working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Chu looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Chu trying to control the hands but Edmonds won't let him.
Chu needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Chu defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Chu tries to escape but Edmonds has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Chu is holding onto Edmonds's left hand, preventing any choke attempts.

Chu is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Edmonds gets his way!

Chu looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Chu tries to roll but Edmonds sticks to his back.
Chu trying to control the action but Edmonds just sinks the hooks in.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chu is really stuck here.
Edmonds gets his hands free as Chu looks to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Edmonds dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Chu jabs Edmonds right on the nose. Edmonds blinks but takes it well.
Chu smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Chu jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Chu punishes Edmonds's body with a nice straight punch.
Edmonds closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.


Edmonds is rocked!
Sake Chu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A cross from Edmonds lands.
Chu misses with a looping right.
Chu throws a shot from downtown. Edmonds moves away and avoids it.
Chu misses with a few strikes there.
Chu throws a body punch but Edmonds moves out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Edmonds feints and as Chu raises his hands in defense, Edmonds changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Chu keeping moving, preventing Edmonds from controlling successfully.
Chu looking to hit a scissor sweep but Edmonds is one step ahead there.
Chu lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Chu is stalling in the full guard.
Chu trying to control the position from guard on top but Edmonds is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Chu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Edmonds is keeping the position for now.
Edmonds is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Chu looking to pass the guard.
Chu wants to control from the top but Edmonds keeps moving.
Chu is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Chu sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Edmonds doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Chu paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Edmonds - great work!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). John Edmonds!
A relieved looking John Edmonds thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
