The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meyer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Meyer walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Meyer fails in his attempt to clinch.

Johnson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Meyer smiles and moves away.

Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Meyer tries to clinch but Johnson is having none of it.
Meyer tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance.
Meyer fails in his attempt to clinch.
Johnson tries to counter by closing the distance.
Meyer moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off.
Meyer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Johnson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Johnson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sergej Meyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Johnson.
A slapping leg kick lands for Johnson.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Meyer but Meyer pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Meyer doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson circles away.
Meyer moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off.
Johnson is looking to chop away at Meyer's legs.
Meyer tries to counter by clinching up but Johnson breaks away and moves out of range.
Meyer tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Meyer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Meyer has closed the distance and engaged Johnson in a clinch.

Meyer lands a left hand that snaps the head of Johnson backwards.
Meyer misses with a punch on the inside.
Johnson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Meyer just stands there and leans against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Meyer.

Johnson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Meyer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Meyer has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Johnson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Meyer is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Johnson pulls down on the head and he's put Meyer to sleep! This one is all over!
