The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith is looking to land body kicks.

Ayers shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ayers showed some decent athleticism there.

Ayers works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Ayers bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Smith throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ayers's waist but Ayers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smith off to one side.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

As Smith looks to move away, Ayers throws a big counter combo but Smith just gets out of the way.
Ayers dives in for a single leg takedown but Smith sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Ayers throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Smith was covering up waiting for the punch and Ayers finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Ayers tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ayers manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Smith shoots in but Ayers avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Smith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Smith shoots for a double leg takedown but Ayers sprawls well. He's pushed Smith's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A little feinted left hand from Ayers on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Ayers looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Wilbur Ayers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Smith fails with the takedown.
Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ayers sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat.
It looked like Ayers was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Ayers is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Ayers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Smith has momentary wrist control but Ayers slips an elbow through the middle.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Ayers takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Smith looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Smith looking to throw knees to the head but Ayers is blocking nicely.
Smith drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Smith manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Smith is trying to drag Ayers to the mat but Ayers just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ayers manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Smith drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ayers pulls his leg out and moves away.

Ayers looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Smith!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Nick Smith.
I think Smith has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
