Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Edmund Blackadder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Saint Pierre!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackadder stuffs the takedown.
Blackadder throws a right hand that Saint Pierre ducks under and follows up with a left that Saint Pierre also avoids with ease.

Blackadder closes the distance and clinches.
Saint Pierre tries for a takedown. No joy.

Blackadder pulls guard effortlessly.
Blackadder keeping moving, preventing Saint Pierre from controlling successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Blackadder closes the distance and clinches up with Saint Pierre, looking for a takedown. Blackadder pushes Saint Pierre against the cage but Saint Pierre circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Blackadder looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Saint Pierre is fending him off so far but Blackadder persists. Nope, Saint Pierre circles away and we're back to standing.

Blackadder tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Blackadder shoots in but Saint Pierre avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Saint Pierre stuffs the takedown attempt from Blackadder. Blackadder gets slowly back to his feet.

Saint Pierre tries to keep at a distance but Blackadder has taken the fight into the clinch.
Blackadder is pressed up against the cage. Saint Pierre has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Blackadder down to the mat. Blackadder avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Blackadder feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Saint Pierre controls Blackadder momentarily but Blackadder frees himself.

Saint Pierre can't keep his opponent in guard - Blackadder advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Saint Pierre has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Blackadder is working away from the top position though.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Saint Pierre shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Saint Pierre showed some decent athleticism there.
Blackadder is staying active underneath Saint Pierre, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Edmund Blackadder will probably get the nod.

Horrible takedown by Saint Pierre or perhaps it was just good defense by Blackadder which made him look bad.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Blackadder, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
