Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zed Baby! (ranked 2528 p4p, 312 weight class) and Evan Better (ranked 3190 p4p, 0 weight class). Baby! comes into the arena with Rage Against The Machine: Know Your Enemy blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zed Baby!!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 25 - 0, fighting out of New York, Evan Better!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Eddie Farnsworth and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baby! keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Baby! was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Better dodges the punch combination from Baby!.
Better scores with a hook.
Baby! has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Touch Of Death Combat Academy in the buildup to the fight.
Better has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Better there as he acknowledges the shot.


It looks like Evan Better has been cut.

Baby! clinches.
Better misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Baby! pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Baby! misses with a lunging right hand
and Better counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Better blocks a jab.
Better leaves Baby! with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Better wants to counter the offense by Baby! and move into the clinch position.
Baby! rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Better counters with a takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Better thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Better lands a few punches from side control.

Baby! is not content to let Better control the position.
Better prevents Baby! from escaping the position.
Better wants to control but Baby! is keeping him busy.
Baby! avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Better.
Better wants to lay and pray for a moment but Baby! keeps working.

Better wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Baby!, who protects the arm well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Better wants to control but Baby! is keeping him busy.
Baby! is looking for a sweep.
Baby! is pushing Better's head away, looking to escape. Better manages to hold on to the position though.
Baby! is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Better with the ground and pound but Baby! uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Better wants to pass the guard but Baby! is keeping the position.

Better trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Better loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Better throwing strikes from guard but Baby! blocks nicely.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Baby! controlling the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Baby! throws a lazy right hand but Better sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Baby! is looking to clinch.
Better buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Baby! throws a body punch but Better moves out of range.
Better lands a jab to the nose.
A punch lands to the side of Better 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Baby! wants to clinch up but Better keeps it at a distance.
Better lands a leg kick that knocks Baby! off balance momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Better scores with a leg kick.
Baby! changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Better tries to avoid it but Baby! manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Better to the ground. Better escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Baby! walks into a left hand.
Baby! slaps away a takedown attempt from Better, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Baby! shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Better counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Baby! manages to escape and get back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zed Baby!. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Baby! dives in and scores a takedown into Better's guard.
Better controls Baby! momentarily but Baby! frees himself.
Baby! wants to control from the top but Better keeps moving.
Better pulls Baby! in close to his closed guard and prevents Baby! from doing any damage or advancing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Evan Better will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Better slips under a jab from Baby!.
A chopping leg kick lands by Better.
Baby! lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Better circles away quickly and effectively.
Better looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Better - that will leave a mark!
Baby! shoots in and drives through. Better sprawls well.
Better turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Baby! throws a hook but Better blocks it.
Baby! throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Better counters with a takedown into side control.

Baby! bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Better moves into the clinch.
Baby! looking for a takedown.

Better breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Zed Baby! seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circle momentarily. Better darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Baby! doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Better counters with a right hand to the body.

Better with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Baby! to score with a decent uppercut.
Baby! misses with an uppercut. Better saw that one coming.
Better lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Baby! at a distance.
Baby! throws a jab when Better was well out of range.
Baby! tries to clinch up.

Better drives through with a takedown into guard.
Better looking to pass the guard.
Better throwing strikes from guard but Baby! blocks nicely.
Baby! has momentary wrist control but Better slips an elbow through the middle.
Baby! is looking to stand up but Better isn't so interested in that idea.
Better wants to control from the top but Baby! keeps moving.

Better wants to pass the guard but Baby! is keeping the position.
Baby! utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Better looking to sit in guard and control but Baby! gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Baby! tries to stand but Better is controlling from the bottom.
Better wants to sweep here but Baby! controlling him for the moment.
Baby! missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Better looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Better wants to control but Baby! passes easily into half guard.
Better wants to get back to full guard.
Baby! sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Better defending well though.
Better wants to get back to full guard.
Baby! thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Better's head.
Baby! not landing any meaningful shots this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Baby! closes the distance looking to clinch
and Better counters with a straight right hand.

Evan Better seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Better keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Better fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Baby! has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Baby! connects with a good right hand that stumbles Better. Better circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Better throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
No luck for Baby! with that takedown attempt.
Baby! misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Baby! clinches up against the cage.
Baby! on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Better jumps guard but Baby! turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Better manages to break the clinch.
Better fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Better ducks under a wild hook from Baby!.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Better steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Baby!.
Baby! wants to clinch but Better slips to the side
and Better counters with a slapping leg kick.
Better drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Baby! tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Baby! bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Better's head.

Better scores with a jab. Baby! acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Better lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Better shoots in but Baby! avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Better jabs Baby! right on the nose. Baby! blinks but takes it well.
Better scores with a crisp jab that stopped Baby! in his tracks.
Baby! smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Baby! throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Baby! misses with a straight right.
Better takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Baby! listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.


Better is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Baby! takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Baby! falls off balance throwing a combination
and Better counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Better.
Baby! rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Better counters with a leg kick.
Baby! dives in and grabs Better's left leg, looking for a takedown. Better pushes down on Baby!'s head and hops out.
Baby! is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Baby! scores with a jab.
Better is still on wobbly legs! Can Baby! finish him?
Better shoots in and drives through. Baby! sprawls well.
Zed Baby! has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Evan Better.
A looping hook to the body misses from Better. Baby! does a little dance to reset his feet.
Baby! tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Better seems to have recovered his senses.
Baby! tries to clinch up but Better circles away and keeps his distance.
Baby! feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Betters jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!


That has opened up Evan Better's cut even more.
Baby! scores with a jab to the head.
Baby! throws the left hand but Better avoids the punch easily.
Better flicks out a counter leg kick but Baby! steps away.
Baby! shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Better as he jumps to the side.
OH! Better has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Baby! smells blood and charges in for the finish! Baby! unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Better sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Zed Baby!!
An out of breath Zed Baby! thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
The defeated Evan Better had this to say: 'Lucky, lucky, lucky.'.
