Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter Sherman (ranked 6887 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noal Blauw (ranked 5135 p4p, 0 weight class). Noal Blauw will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Sherman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Noal Blauw!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Blauw.

Blauw goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Sherman rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Blauw's guard! Nice work there by Sherman!

Blauw throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sherman's waist but Sherman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Blauw off to one side.

Blauw tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sherman just stands there and leans against the cage.
Sherman has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Blauw after a bit of a struggle.
Blauw drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sherman pulls his leg out and moves away.
Peter Sherman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Noal Blauw.

Blauw throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Sherman swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Blauw tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Blauw ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Blauw no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Sherman winds up and cracks Blauw with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Sherman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sherman lands a nice short elbow.

Blauw has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sherman is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are battling for position here. Blauw manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blauw thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Blauw looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sherman is fending him off so far but Blauw persists. Nope, Sherman circles away and we're back to standing.

Blauw takes the fight into the clinch.
Sherman lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Sherman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sherman takes a swing at Blauw's ribcage but misses.

Blauw has Sherman up against the cage in a clinch.
Blauw is trying to pull guard but Sherman turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Blauw breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Blauw moves out of range of the leg kick from Sherman.
Noal Blauw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sherman slips under a jab.

Blauw throws the kick towards the body but Sherman avoids it.
Blauw is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sherman clinches up with Blauw and pushes him back against the cage.

Blauw shoots in but no luck this time.
Peter Sherman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Noal Blauw.
Sherman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Blauw moves away.

Blauw throws a right hand that Sherman ducks under and follows up with a left that Sherman also avoids with ease.

Sherman fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Sherman misses with a kick to the body.

Sherman scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Blauw doesn't seem bothered though.

Sherman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Blauw manages to avoid it.
Sherman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sherman wants it to stay on the feet.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sherman has Blauw pressed against the cage, preventing Blauw from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Blauw shoots in and drives through. Sherman sprawls well.
It looked like Sherman was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Blauw.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sherman. Blauw does a little dance to reset his feet.

A low kick from Blauw is predictable there
and Sherman counters with a left to the body.

Blauw feints the counter takedown.

Blauw moves into the clinch.
Blauw has Sherman pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sherman manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Sherman scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Blauw tries to bum rush Sherman with a series of wild strikes but Sherman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Blauw takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sherman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Blauw doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sherman.

Sherman tries to stand and escape but Blauw is controlling the position.
Blauw is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Sherman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Blauw with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Sherman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Blauw tries for a takedown but Sherman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Peter Sherman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Blauw throws a strike but Sherman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Well Sherman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
