Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Theron Bird (ranked 25029 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ford Xander (ranked 7016 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Theron Bird!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ford Xander!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bird throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Xander tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bird is in Xander's guard.
Xander being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bird stands and steps away. Xander gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Bird closes the distance and pushes Xander back into the cage.
Xander tries to circle away but Bird has him pinned against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Xander's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Bird jumps guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bird is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Xander wants to stand but Bird is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Bird throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Bird trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Xander tries to stand but Bird is controlling from the bottom.
Bird pulls Xander in close to prevent any damage.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Xander tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bird tries to counter with a takedown but Xander is quick to defend against it.
A head kick by Xander misses
and Bird makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Xander tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Xander throws a sloppy head kick
and Bird counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bird.
Xander is looking to stand back up but Bird counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Xander.
Xander looks winded!

Bird stands up from half guard.
Xander misses with a few strikes there.
Ford Xander seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bird plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Bird shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Xander is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bird scores with a couple of nice shots.
Bird missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Bird winds up and cracks Xander with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Bird content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Bird lands strikes from half guard.
Well, if Bird is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

A looping hook to the body misses from Bird. Xander does a little dance to reset his feet.
Xander throws a head kick that misses
and Bird counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bird closes the distance and clinches.
Bird is looking for a takedown.
Bird really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bird jumps guard but Xander stands there with Bird around his waist. Bird gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Bird keeps control of Xander as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
The referee calls for Bird to work.
Bird jumps guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bird wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Bird has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Bird pushes Xander off and gets back to his feet.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Bird.
Xander bucks up and tries to throw Bird off but instead Bird has got his back!

Bird seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Xander for as long as he can get away with.

Bird is riding his opponent, not letting Xander buck him off.
Xander is trying to defend against the choke here but Bird has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Bird Tightens the hold and Xander taps out furiously! Bird displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
