Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lazuran Riku (ranked 3051 p4p, 0 weight class) and Afa Sila (ranked 2379 p4p, 0 weight class). Sila has chosen Samoa Joe - Destroyer (Entrance Theme) as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riku lands a slapping body shot.
Riku uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sila.
Riku throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Sila counters with a right hand to the body.
Riku connects with a crisp jab.
Sila slips a straight right by Riku.
Sila gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Sila throws out a leg kick but Riku moves out of range and Sila only half commits.
Riku lands with a thumping leg kick.
Riku uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sila.
Riku is looking to chop away at Sila's legs.
Sila chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Riku can pounce on him.
Afa Sila seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Riku appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Sila looks to throw the jab but Riku is out of range.
A low kick from Sila is predictable there
and Riku makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Sila steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Riku.
Riku throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Sila takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Sila throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Sila now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Sila avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sila! But no joy.

Riku drops Sila with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Sila looks back up at him and smiles so Riku waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Riku is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Riku throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sila is looking to land body kicks.

Riku sends Sila crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Riku is motioning to the referee to let Sila up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

It looked like Riku wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Sila uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Riku.
Sila throws a jab when Riku was well out of range.
As Sila looks to move away, Riku throws a big counter combo but Sila just gets out of the way.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Sila.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And Sila responds with a good body kick, but Riku manages to step out the way in time.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Sila might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Riku has got the better of the exchanges.

Lazuran Riku was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
