PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Brown (ranked 3603 p4p, 381 weight class) and Kimmo Kehveli (ranked 22671 p4p, 557 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by Hail Mary Tupac. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kimmo Kehveli!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brown has closed the distance and engaged Kehveli in a clinch.

Kehveli manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Brown got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kehveli has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brown has managed to get both his arms back between Kehveli's legs - danger averted.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kehveli fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Kehveli throws a hook to the side of Brown's head but Brown sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Brown has Kehveli pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kehveli manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Kehveli is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Kimmo Kehveli showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Brown is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kehveli can do to turn this around?

Kehveli has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Brown is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kehveli.

Joshua Brown decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
