PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Preston Wiggins (ranked 23864 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucifer Abdullah (ranked 5158 p4p, 0 weight class). Abdullah has chosen East Coat as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abdullah looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Abdullah closes the distance and clinches up with Wiggins, looking for a takedown. Abdullah pushes Wiggins against the cage but Wiggins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wiggins throws a big counter combination but Abdullah scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Wiggins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Abdullah swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Abdullah jumps guard but Wiggins stands there with Abdullah around his waist. Abdullah gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Preston Wiggins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucifer Abdullah.
Wiggins is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Abdullah tries to score a body lock takedown but Wiggins shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Abdullah changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wiggins tries to avoid it but Abdullah manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wiggins to the ground. Wiggins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Abdullah throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wiggins's waist but Wiggins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Abdullah off to one side.

Wiggins shoots in and drives through. Abdullah sprawls well.
Abdullah throws a low kick, looking for Wiggins's leg but Wiggins calmly moves out of range.

Nice takedown defense from Wiggins. No joy for Abdullah on that attempt.
Wiggins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Abdullah's waist but Abdullah gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wiggins off to one side.
Abdullah shoots for a double leg takedown but Wiggins sprawls well. He's pushed Abdullah's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Abdullah tries to close the distance and clinch but Wiggins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That was a close round but I would say that Preston Wiggins will probably get the nod.

Abdullah dives in and grabs Wiggins's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wiggins pushes down on Abdullah's head and hops out.

Abdullah rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wiggins moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Wiggins tries to score a power double leg takedown but Abdullah sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wiggins somewhat.
As Wiggins backs off Abdullah throws a huge counter combo but Wiggins manages to avoid it all.

Wiggins connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Abdullah some visible discomfort.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wiggins goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Abdullah rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Wiggins's guard! Nice work there by Abdullah!

Abdullah got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wiggins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Abdullah has managed to get both his arms back between Wiggins's legs - danger averted.

Wiggins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Abdullah doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Abdullah manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Abdullah is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Wiggins is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Wiggins has escaped and now he's on top!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Abdullah is just content to waste time from the top position. Wiggins takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

I would just about give that final round to Lucifer Abdullah.
