Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cael Gable!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Gable throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Wallace misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Gable gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Wallace is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gable is pulling down on Wallace's head to control his posture.

Wallace postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gable is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wallace, into his guard.

Wallace looking for subs off his back but Gable has passed one foot through into half guard.

Wallace is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Gable pulls his head out easily.
Gable wants to stand up but Wallace has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Gable passes to side control.
Wallace is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Gable's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Wallace tries to get to full guard but Gable has control of the leg.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Wallace actively working from the bottom here.
Wallace is looking to improve his position.
Gable uses his free foot to push down on Wallace's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Wallace.
Gable controlling the position easily from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wallace can't escape the position.
Wallace is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wallace is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Gable tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Wallace.
Well, if Gable is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Wallace throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Wallace wants to get back to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gable wants to free his trapped foot but Wallace is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Gable passes the guard and advances to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Cael Gable will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

It looks like William Wallace has been cut.
Gable throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wallace on the side of the head.
Wallace misses with a jab, cross combination.

Gable shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gable was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Wallace is trying to escape the mount.
Wallace flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wallace manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Wallace moves into full guard.
Gable must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Wallace working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gable doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gable manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gable wants to control from the top but Wallace keeps moving.

Wallace is looking for a triangle here but Gable uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Gable tries to move to mount but Wallace blocks the move with his legs.
Wallace tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gable wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Gable wants to control but Wallace is keeping him busy.
Wallace is trying to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wallace gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Gable decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wallace's guard.

Wallace has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Gable has passed into side control.

Gable decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Gable misses with an uppercut.
Gable missing with a left hand there. Wallace was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gable misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Wallace.
Gable tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wallace swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Wallace takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Wallace swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gable takes a swing at Wallace's ribcage but misses.
Gable swings for the body but Wallace moves out of range.
Wallace uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gable.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cael Gable showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Wallace closes the distance and clinches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Gable.
Wallace wants to break free but Gable has control.

Gable breaks the clinch.
Wallace motions for Gable to come forward. Wallace throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Gable avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wallace will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wallace fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gable scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Wallace is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Gable in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Wallace gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Gable tries to control but Wallace wriggling away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Wallace strikes from the bottom but Gable uses the opportunity to move to side control.

Cael Gable has got the better of the ground game so far.
Wallace is looking for a sweep. Gable is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Wallace is pressing down on Gable's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Wallace working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gable doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gable manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Wallace has his foot on Gable's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gable works his way back into a safe position though.

Gable wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wallace keeps working.
Wallace gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

A close third round but Cael Gable just about did enough to take it.

Gable is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

Gable slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Wallace keeping moving, preventing Gable from controlling successfully.

Wallace pushes a forearm under Gable's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Gable is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
