PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bart Snow (ranked 25021 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amir Bono (ranked 5076 p4p, 0 weight class). Amir Bono told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bart Snow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Amir Bono!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bono fails with the takedown
and Snow counters with a one-two to the body.
Bono shoots and misses

and Snow counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Snow decides to pull guard.
Bono wants to control from the top but Snow keeps moving.
Snow knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bono on the ground.

Bono avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Snow pulls Bono in to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Snow has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bono can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

and Snow counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Snow.

Bono is trying to drag Snow to the mat but Snow just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Snow manages to pull guard.
Bono controls from within his opponent's guard.
Snow looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bono is one step ahead there.

Snow escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bono gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Snow is breathing heavily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bono throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Snow counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Bono pushes Snow off and scrambles back to his feet.

Snow takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Bono thuds his shin into the meat of Snow's side.
Bart Snow is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bono throws a leg kick but Snow sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Snow seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Bono connects with a body shot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bono throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Snow.
Bono goes for a double leg but Snow avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Snow continues to drive forward.

and Snow counters with a single leg into guard. Bono didn't expect that.
Bono is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Bono is working an open guard so Snow takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Snow could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
