Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Darrel Walters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Jones!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones clinches up with Walters and pushes him back against the cage.
Walters could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Walters decides to pull guard.
Walters looking for a sweep. Not yet Walters, not yet.
Walters lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Walters chips away with some ground and pound.

Walters gets to his feet. Jones looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Jones throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Walters counters with a left and a right that stings Jones.

Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Walters napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Walters bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jones misses with a head kick.
It looked like Walters was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Jones throws a head kick but Walters moves out of range.
Jones goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Darrel Walters has been cut.
Jones leaves Walters with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Walters napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Walters sneaks back into half guard.
Walters trying to control from the bottom.
Walters is trying to stand back up but Jones is controlling him
Walters manages to get to full guard.
Walters is controlling Jones's posture.
Jones wants to get up but he can't break Walters's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Walters wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Walters. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Walters is looking for a triangle here but Jones uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Walters is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jones off and has taken his back!
Walters somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Walters is punishing Jones with some ground and pound.
Walters thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Walters.

Walters is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Jones up.
Walters lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

Walters lands with a hammerfist to the side of Jones's head.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Walters controlling the positon.

Can Jones hold on?! Walters is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Walters trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Jones doesn't escape.
Walters seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jones for as long as he can get away with.

Jones is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walters lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Walters.
Walters connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Jones to escape the position.

Walters has Jones flattened out and is raining down punches.
Jones is covering up but some of the strikes from Walters are getting through and doing damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Walters continues to stall.
Walters is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Jones. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Walters tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jones defends well and Walters ends up having to push Jones into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Walters tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage.
Walters scores with a hook to the body.

Walters breaks from the clinch.
Jones lets loose with a powerful body kick. Walters will feel that in the morning.

Jones gets a double leg takedown into Walters's guard.

Walters pushes Jones off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Walters turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Walters lands a decent elbow from side control.
Walters is working Jones over with some ground and pound from side control.
The referee asks Walters politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Walters prefers to stall for the moment though.
Jones is breathing heavily.

Walters scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jones to see if he's OK.

Walters decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Walters blocks a head kick by Jones.
Jones fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Walters.
Walters shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Walters keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darrel Walters. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Walters moves into the clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jones is working to avoid the ground and pound but Walters connects with a decent elbow.

Walters shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jones's guard.

Walters takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Walters connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.

Walters postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Jones to stand up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Jones shoots in and bounces Walters off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walters gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jones to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Walters has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Jones has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Walters is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Walters has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

As Jones looks to move away, Walters throws a big counter combo but Jones just gets out of the way.

Walters shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jones manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Walters lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Jones is working an open guard so Walters takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Darrel Walters is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Walters looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Walters throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Walters finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jones is working an open guard so Walters takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Walters manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Walters, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
