The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gallowgate connects with a good right hand that stumbles Slaughter. Slaughter circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Victor Slaughter has been cut.

Slaughter scores with a takedown into Gallowgate's guard.
Gallowgate wants to stand up but Slaughter is controlling him.

Slaughter drops back looking for a leg! Gallowgate is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gallowgate manages to kick Slaughter off! Slaughter jumps back into Gallowgate's guard.

Slaughter drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Slaughter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Slaughter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Slaughter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Slaughter slips nicely into half guard.
Gallowgate gets back to full guard.
Gallowgate wants to sweep but no luck.
Slaughter prevents Gallowgate from getting back to his feet.

Slaughter working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Slaughter thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Slaughter has an Americana. Gallowgate didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Slaughter is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Slaughter hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

After winning the bout, Victor Slaughter thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
