PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Clement Holder (ranked 25027 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sanchez Ding (ranked 5229 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Clement Holder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sanchez Ding!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Holder gets caught napping as Ding dives in and scores a takedown. Holder manages to retain guard.
Ding content to stall in guard here.
Ding is pushing down on Holder's leg trying to pass to half guard. Holder is fighting to maintain full guard but Ding has managed to sneak the leg through.
Holder won't allow Ding to pass to mount.
Holder has hold of Ding's hands but Ding slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Ding is looking to advance position but Holder won't allow it.
Ding landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Ding tries to stand and escape but Holder is controlling the position.
Holder tries to kick Ding off but Ding keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ding seems to be looking for submissions.
Holder works his way to full guard. Good work.
Holder looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Holder is looking to stand up but Ding isn't so interested in that idea.
Ding is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Ding is looking to stand up but Holder won't let him.
Ding looking to pass the guard.
Holder is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ding distracts Holder with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Holder will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Holder avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Ding looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Ding won't allow Holder to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ding throws a push kick but Holder slaps the foot to one side.
Holder shoots in for a takedown but Ding shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ding fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Holder has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Holder throws a right hand that Ding ducks under and follows up with a left that Ding also avoids with ease.
Ding pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Holder will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ding is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Ding has eaten all the pies!

Ding drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Holder wants to get back to his feet but Ding is dominant here and he's now got Holder's back!
Holder is breathing heavily.
Ding controlling the position well here. Holder rolled but Ding kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Holder is trying to get back to his feet but Ding has full control of the position and if anything, Holder has just worked his way into a worse spot.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Ding controlling the positon.
It looks like Ding might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Ding working for a choke but Holder is defending well.
Holder just trying to survive but Ding is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Ding controls the position.
Ding is landing with strikes. Holder can't take much more of this.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Ding is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Holder really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Holder is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Holder rolls, trying to escape but Ding keeps control of the position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sanchez Ding dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Ding closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ding lands in his opponent's guard.
Ding lands a couple of elbows.
Ding is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Holder trying to control the position.

Holder wants to control the position but Ding says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Holder wants to control but Ding is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Sanchez Ding has got the better of the ground game so far.

Ding working over Holder with some ground and pound. Holder looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Holder on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.


Holder is rocked!

Ding is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Oh Holder is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ding is working for a kimura but Holder is defending it quite comfortably.
Ding lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ding lands a nice short elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ding is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Holder is just riding it out for now. Ding eventually gives up the hold.
Holder is trying to get back to full guard.
Ding controlling the action here.
Ding scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Ding is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Holder is hurt! He's hurt bad - Ding fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Holder from any more punishment! Congratulations to Ding! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sanchez Ding!
