Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Usko Matonen (ranked 374 p4p, 13 weight class) and Techno Viking (ranked 1643 p4p, 72 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Viking's choice of entrance music: Techno Viking. Usko Matonen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Usko Matonen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Techno Viking!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matonen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Matonen gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Viking breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Matonen lands a big head kick that sends Viking tumbling to the mat! Matonen takes a step backwards and waves Viking back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Matonen throws a body kick that misses.
Viking is still on wobbly legs! Can Matonen finish him?
Matonen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Viking.
Matonen dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Viking. That did some damage!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Viking shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Matonen as he jumps to the side.

Viking is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Matonen misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Matonen feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Viking on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Viking changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Matonen tries to avoid it but Viking manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Matonen to the ground. Matonen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Viking shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Matonen sprawls well. Matonen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Viking gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd cheers as Viking lands an impressive looking overhand right. Matonen doesn't seem phased though.

Viking stalks Matonen and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Matonen's face. Matonen staggers backwards, shaken.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Viking works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Matonen loads up on a big right hand but Viking slips the punch.
Viking is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
A nice inside leg kick there by Matonen. That's going to slow Viking down.

Viking working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Matonen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Matonen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Usko Matonen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
