Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Branum shoots for a takedown but Maldonado saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Branum tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Maldonado really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Maldonado misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Maldonado throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Branum escapes and throws Maldonado's legs to the side, diving into side control!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Oooh a big shot gets through from Branum. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

You can see the frustration on Maldonado's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Maldonado won't enjoy being in this position. Branum looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Maldonado is tapping - it's over boys! Branum picks up the submission victory!
