The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

I was talking to Darwin's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Diaz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Darwin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Diaz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Darwin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Diaz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Diaz is looking to advance position but Darwin won't allow it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Charlie Darwin will probably get the nod.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Darwin has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Diaz to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Darwin is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Diaz pulls down on the head and he's put Darwin to sleep! This one is all over!
