Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Moreno (ranked 25316 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Jones (ranked 4627 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leandro Moreno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Jones!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moreno tries to sprawl but Jones drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Jones is keen to just control but Moreno is a slippery customer.
Jones is controlling the pace.
Moreno trying to control from the bottom.
Jones content to control rather than advance.
Jones wants to stand but Moreno has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones trying to control the pace.

Jones is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Jones decides to stand up.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Moreno circles away quickly and effectively.

Jones shoots in and bounces Moreno off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Jones stands up and waves to Moreno to follow him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Moreno napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Moreno prevents Jones from moving into mount.
Moreno is letting Jones control him for a moment.
Jones postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Moreno tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones trying to control the action but Moreno is working from the bottom.
Jones taking a break here but Moreno is having none of it and regains half guard.
Moreno is concentrating on defense, preventing Jones from advancing position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jones trying to control the pace.
Jones looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Moreno blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jones.
Jones wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Moreno uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jones stands up and waves to Moreno to follow him.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jones showed some decent athleticism there.
Jones trying to control the action but Moreno is working from the bottom.

Jones decides to stand and escape the position.
Jones throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Moreno to counter with a crisp jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Moreno sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jones content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Jones is looking for a kimura here.

Moreno has hold of Jones's hands but Jones slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Jones tries to pass to full mount but Moreno defends it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Moreno trying to hold on to Jones's head to control him but Jones postures up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jones slips a nice elbow through Moreno's hands, connecting with Moreno's forehead.
Jones is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jones seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Jones stands up out of the half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Moreno gets caught flat footed, as Jones shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Moreno keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Moreno is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones passes Moreno's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Jones not doing much here.
Moreno is not content to let Jones control the position.

Jones looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Jones is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Jones lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Mike Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Moreno's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Jones throws the left hand but Moreno avoids the punch easily.
A counter left hand to the body from Moreno misses its target.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Moreno pulls guard successfully.
Jones showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Jones content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Moreno is keeping the position for now.
Jones is working Moreno over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Jones gets to his feet - Moreno follows without any prompting.

Jones drives through with a takedown into Moreno's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones is looking for a kimura but Moreno is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jones to get the leverage.
Jones trying to mount his opponent but Moreno defends it.

Jones wants to pass the guard but Moreno is defending well.

Moreno won't allow Jones to pass to mount.

Jones stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones throws a leg kick which misses Moreno's front leg but catches the back leg as Moreno tries to avoid it.
Moreno wants to clinch.

Jones scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Moreno tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Jones manages to move to mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Jones looking to control and managing it successfully.
Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jones has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Moreno's face.


Moreno is rocked!

And that's the end of the fight!
Mike Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Jones winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
