Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Darryl Frank (ranked 25110 p4p, 0 weight class) and Li Takayama (ranked 5314 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Darryl Frank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Li Takayama!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takayama tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Frank defends well and Takayama ends up having to push Frank into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
A counter left hand to the body from Frank misses its target.

Frank moves into the clinch successfully.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Frank has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Takayama uses from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Takayama wants to get up but he can't break Frank's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Li Takayama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Frank fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Takayama to the ground. Frank is now in Takayama's guard.

Takayama is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Frank presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Takayama looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Frank has picked Takayama up and slammed him! Takayama can't keep hold of the triangle and Frank manages to pass to side control!

Frank is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Takayama is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Frank has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Takayama can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Takayama escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Frank gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Frank is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Takayama has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Frank has passed into side control.
Frank has control of an arm but Takayama manages to advance to Frank's back!
Takayama takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Frank turns into Takayama and is now in his guard.

Darryl Frank showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Frank has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
