Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Buzz Meeks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edwin Lucan!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucan misses with a takedown
and Meeks counters with a two punch combo.
Meeks connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lucan momentarily.
Meeks has closed the distance and engaged Lucan in a clinch.
Meeks fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A left hand lands to the body for Meeks.
Meeks's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lucan throws a wild body kick that Meeks sees coming a mile off.
Meeks closes the distance and pushes Lucan back into the cage.
Lucan is trying to force a seperation but Meeks has the dominant position.
Lucan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lucan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Meeks throws a body shot but no joy.
Meeks feints a jab and as Lucan dips his head, Meeks unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Lucan right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Lucan falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Meeks smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Buzz Meeks!
Buzz Meeks was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
