Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nigel King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Delorme Del Torro !
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King throws a jab but it's blocked by Del Torro .
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Del Torro is defended easily by King.
Nigel King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Del Torro moves into the clinch.

Del Torro breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
King misses with a hook.
King lands a glancing blow to the side of Del Torro 's head.

Del Torro pushes King up against the cage in a clinch.
King is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Del Torro 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King misses with a looping right.
King looks to land a left hand but Del Torro moved out of range nicely.
Del Torro ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
King sets himself, and Del Torro steps forward looking for the clinch! King avoids it this time.
King pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Del Torro back to the cage. King follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Delorme Del Torro has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
King misses the shot to the body.
King fails with a takedown attempt.

King catches Del Torro with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Nice uppercut lands for King. That snapped Del Torro 's head back.

Del Torro shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Del Torro showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

King is looking for a sweep. Del Torro is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

King is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
King is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

King looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
King is trying to control the action in half guard but Del Torro is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Del Torro won't allow King to pass to mount.

Del Torro is staying active underneath King, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
King is really struggling to control Del Torro but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
King looks for the body kick but Del Torro saw that one coming.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

King tries to sprawl but Del Torro drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Del Torro wants to pass the guard but King is defending well.
King regains full guard. Nicely done.

Del Torro gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Del Torro displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from King.
King fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
King scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
The crowd cheers as King lands an impressive looking overhand right. Del Torro doesn't seem phased though.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


King swinging wildly here.
King is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Del Torro can do to turn this around?
King shoots in for a takedown but Del Torro shows good takedown defense.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Del Torro looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Del Torro takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Del Torro tries to clinch but fails miserably
letting King counter with a right hand.
King tests Del Torro 's chin there with a solid looking shot.
King scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
A decent looking body kick lands there for King.
King lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Del Torro backs up against the cage.
Del Torro will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
King swinging wildly here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Delorme Del Torro 's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


King misses with a looping right.
King throws a hook to the side of Del Torro 's head but Del Torro sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Del Torro feints and as King raises his hands in defense, Del Torro changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

King manages to escape and get back to his feet.
King scores with a jab to the head.

Del Torro ducks under a wild hook from King.
Del Torro feints the counter takedown.

Del Torro shoots in and bounces King off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Del Torro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. King swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Del Torro is looking to pass into half guard but King pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now King is in guard.

King moves into full mount!
King can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Del Torro is looking to escape.

King scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Del Torro ?
Nigel King overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

King is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
King uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Del Torro takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

King connects with a single shot there.
King connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Nigel King showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for King, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
