The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rua is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Vovchanchyn.

It looks like Mauricio Rua has been cut.
Vovchanchyn shoots in looking for a takedown. Rua tries to sprawl out of it but Vovchanchyn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rua manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Vovchanchyn lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Vovchanchyn.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rua throws a combination that misses
letting Vovchanchyn counter with a right hand.
Rua misses with a double jab

and Vovchanchyn counters with a left hand that sends Rua to the canvas!

Rua wriggles free and stands up.
Rua looks gassed!
Vovchanchyn shoots for a double leg takedown but Rua sprawls well. He's pushed Vovchanchyn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rua misses with a double jab
and Vovchanchyn counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Rua to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Vovchanchyn!
